Redbrick Gallery opened its doors August 14, 2007 to introduce a space for solo exhibits in Martinsburg, WV.

Owner, Doreane Conrad, welcomes arts patrons to enjoy paintings, sculpture, photographs, and ceramics by international, national, and local artists. While there are of course differences in the point of view of the artists there is also a strong similarity in the expression of their shared experiences regardless of background.

Artists attend Opening Receptions hosted at the gallery so they can meet the public and discuss their art. Conrad is available to help each patron find the perfect artwork for their home.

About Redbrick Gallery

Redbrick Gallery is the proud  home, albeit temporary, of a new 8 feet by 16 feet mosaic mural. Artist, David Heatwole, conceived of this green art project more than a year ago and it was unveiled July 10, 2009.

The mural is created from upcycled plastic bottle caps and lids (plastic that cannot be recycled) that many individuals, businesses, and organizations collected for him during the past year. Up close it is a collection of thousands of bottle caps from various products such as soft drinks to laundry detergent; and plastic lids from jars of pickles, olives, peanut butter and spaghetti sauce. However, from across the street it becomes a rendition of Vincent van Gogh’s famous self portrait with his ear bandage.

Heatwole opened the unveiling with a quote from van Gogh, “great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”

The mural was sponsored by Main Street Martinsburg.
